Such a unique and absolutely delicious experience! This was my first time trying omakase and it was one i'll seriously never forget. Each dish was quite small but with the amount of dishes they give you, it made sense. The chef making the dishes in front of us was also so, so kind and funny, it really made us appreciate the dishes that more. I've never felt more full in my life leaving a restaurant, but it was absolutely worth it

Took my wife here for her birthday and sat at the counter for the omakase experience. It was a truly wonderful experience, amazing menu and tasteful sakes. Staff were knowledgeable, fun and explained all the dishes with passion. The toothfish was my favourite. Whilst my wife loved the Clams and Seagrapes. It was actually hard to pick a favourite. The sake we equally paied well even though we didn't do the proper pairing the staff still helped us. Hope to come again for another occasions!

What an experience, a meal worth travelling for! We dined at MU last night for my wife’s birthday and we couldn’t be happier! We’re not from Canberra but we’ll absolutely be back for a meal here. The venue is beautifully done, and such a nice space to be in. The spacing between diners is perfect, you feel like you’re enjoying the experience together but also have your own privacy as a couple. The food! Words can’t describe. It’s just perfect. 11 courses, each just as good as the next, carefully prepared right in front of you. It’s a nice mix with a heavier focus on cooked courses which is a nice alternate to the more traditional omakase options we see in Sydney. Our standouts were the Chawanmushi, Toothfish and Wagyu but every dish was fantastic. They have an extensive drinks list too with a nice mix of wines by the glass and some higher end bottles. The sake list is amazing too and for us novices, the team were great in providing recommendations which did not disappoint! Cocktails before dinner are also well worth the time! The service was standout! The team work well together and know exactly what they’re doing. Our drinks were rarely empty, our water was never empty, they were knowledgeable on the entire food and drinks menu but did not feel overbearing at any time. All in all it was a perfect night out and an experience we’ll remember forever. If you have the opportunity to dine at MU, do not miss it! We can’t wait to return.

Absolutely stunning food and service, Jasmine is a lovely, friendly and accommodating host. Food is top quality, I loved all the dishes which are prepared to a high Japanese standard as always. Amazing mocktails. The doorman is a great touch. Modern and stylish interior. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a lovely evening!

One of the best Japanese restaurants I have been. We had the 6course short menu. Well executed menu, flavorful, nice portion. We didn't try sake pairing but the cocktails were good too. Excited to try the omasake at my next Canberra trip.

What an experience! Organise the chef's table with sake pairing. The team are very knowledgeable, friendly and the atmosphere was great. Seasonal ingredients. It's deceivingly filling. Only issue, there's no phone number to call. If you're Ubering it, put the address not the restaurant name. We were dropped off near the regatta. Great job guys! Looking forward to trying next seasons menu.

It's such a wonderful gem in Canberra. Great food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed the omaakase with sake pairing. Relaxed atmosphere with guests chatting to each other and the chef. The highlight was the super lux and delicious spring roll! I will never look at another spring role the same way again!

An absolutely fantastic experience at Mu. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Every dish felt thoughtful, refined, and full of flavour. Huge hats off to Chef Arthur, Chef Phoebe, and Chef Alex for delivering such an outstanding meal. Special thanks to Chef Arthur for talking us through all the dishes, but also cooking and food generally (you can really see his passion for food). Special mention to Lela, who was incredibly fun, warm, and attentive, adding so much to the atmosphere and making the whole experience feel relaxed and memorable. Exceptional food, wonderful service, and a great vibe. Can’t wait to return.
